Stone Columns
Our gate columns are of solid sandstone and the designs are inspired by those of the 18th and 19th Century. Stone is sourced locally and selected for it's hardness and tones.
Quality hard stone is challenging to work with but with a hardness rating of around 50mpa, a guarantee of longevity is assured.
At any level stone masonry is a tedious profession diamond saws, pneumatic picks and tungsten chisels are used to mason the stone blocks that form the column.
The name of your property is carved into the stone at the top of the column, below the capital.
